If you’re wondering about the guitar… so that’s a homemade Cigar Box guitar, made from a kit purchased from the great people over at https://www.cbgitty.com/ – it was a lot of fun and let me combine two of my favorite things: cigars and starting new hobbies!

The box is one of my first full cigar box purchases – https://drewestate.com/ Drew Estate Cigars Olde Penn. I don’t think they make them anymore, but they were great inexpensive smokes.

I’ve got another finished guitar laying around that I’m not unhappy with per se, but it’s not as nice – I built the second one from scratch without a kit. I have found that I don’t quite have the tools I need to do it well, so I’m putting that hobby on hold for a while until I’m better equipped.

You may ask how well I play. The short answer is that I do not. The long answer is that I can sort of strum and pick out notes, but that’s about it. I’ve never had the patience to learn to play, and age hasn’t changed that. Maybe one day. Until then, I’ll still build these – I enjoy the act of creating, and maybe eventually I’ll learn on one of my own.
